Since it was first introduced in 2016, the Nonfiction Core Application has been welcomed by filmmakers for streamlining what was previously a cumbersome and very time-consuming process of preparing separate applications for each funding source. After a round of revisions two years ago, the Core App is being updated again to better serve both filmmakers and funders, and to better reflect current realities and priorities in the documentary funding space.

This closed group working session for documentary funders will be facilitated by IDA and Sundance Institute staff. Attendees are invited to review draft revisions of the Core App and offer feedback.

Please note: This session is open to funders only. RSVP is required. After RSVP'ing, please take a moment to describe your funder status on your Eventive pass profile, available at this link. Once logged in, you can view your pass under "Menu." Then select "edit details" next to your pass name. The funder status question is at the bottom of the questionnaire.

A documentary film funder is an individual, organization, or entity that provides financial support or resources for the production, distribution, or exhibition of documentary films. These funders can include non-profit organizations, broadcasters, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, streaming platforms, and private investors. This session is also open to organizations that offer fiscal sponsorship, application-based artist support, and pitching forums.

Filmmakers who wish to provide their input are warmly welcome to do so separately at the Nonfiction Core App Feedback Table, which will be located in the JANM Democracy Center Lobby.

Please use the Zoom link emailed to you to access this breakout session. See you there!
