Director Statement"LINGER" challenges the typical melancholic portrayal of LGBTQIAPN+ elderly in cinema.It's a romantic film that seeks to humanize the community by expanding portrayals of possibilities, normalizing bisexuality, and addressing themes like fidelity and generational heteronormativity.Inspired by my maternal great-grandfather, whom I've never had the chance to meet. He was the only other LGBTQIAP+ figure in my family besides myself, keeping hidden agreements within his heterosexual marriage.
