We end the 10th edition of the Honolulu African American Film Festival by presenting a collection of short films that highlight the cutting edge of Black cinema—highlighting the accomplishments of Black scientists and artists while diving into the different shades of the Black experience in America.

Join us for a live discussion with director Dagmawi Abebe (The Ball Method) alongside LaJoya Reed Shelley and Donavan Kamakani Albano of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa to speak about the accomplishments of Alice Ball and her legacy in Hawaiʻi today. Moderated by Dr. Ethan Caldwell, Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at UH: Mānoa.
