Impossible Journey: The Untold Story of the LLRV profiles NASA test pilot, Don Malick, who was selected as the lead pilot to test the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle (LLRV), the innovative training solution needed to help Nasa engineers and Apollo 11 pilots learn how to safely land on the moon. Through many trials the test pilots and engineers came up with new technology and insights that were essential for Apollo's success. The LLRV training proved to be vital when Neil Armstrong had to change course on the LEM descent to avoid previously unseen obstacles that could have immediately destroyed the craft. Ultimately the LLRV program proved to be an instrumental yet virtually unknown part of NASA's Apollo success.
