Dr. Teresa Hairston is founder of Gospel Today, Gospel Heritage Foundation, a songwriter, music director, and author. Dr. Hairston started in marketing at Savoy Records and later Benson Records. She supported chart-topping artists such as James Cleveland, Kirk Franklin, Rev. Run, Yolanda Adams, Albertina Walker and Hezekiah Walker, to name a few.

Co-Directors Ethan Gill and Haley Semian are born and raised in Indiana. Creator/host/composer Dr. Tyron Cooper, Ethan, and Haley are Bloomington residents. All in-person interviews were recorded at Indiana University in Bloomington. Lead Dr. Teresa Hairston conducted research in Indiana. The Archives of African American Music and Culture (AAAMC) is housed in Bloomington, Indiana.
