I'm sure when you hear that these are "Isolation" short films, you will immediately think about the isolation at home during this pandemic. That is actually true for some of them--a couple were even filmed while on lockdown. That is not all of them, though. I was thinking of this theme long before we know what COVID-19 was. We have a short film block about relationships, and we have another one about family. This one is about the absence of either, and it is something that is personally quite terrifying to me. We also are asking a question with at least two of the short films (VR Food and Jeff Drives You): is it still isolation when one's company is a machine? See what you think!

Richie, a reclusive young man, wants nothing more than to just sit back and watch movies all day. But with college courses piling up, and a nagging mom calling him every two seconds, peace may be further out of reach than imagined. Not to mention the booger stuck on his finger.

OMG, y'all are not expecting this. Isolation have never been so disgusting--and shockingly hilarious! I dare not say more! -Miguel

I had a full body, visceral reaction to this ENTIRE brilliant, little film, and lost count of how many times I screamed at the screen. A timely film that is absolutely pitch perfect for anyone living in pandemic isolation right now. -Programmer Laila Ayad
