I'm sure when you hear that these are "Isolation" short films, you will immediately think about the isolation at home during this pandemic. That is actually true for some of them--a couple were even filmed while on lockdown. That is not all of them, though. I was thinking of this theme long before we know what COVID-19 was. We have a short film block about relationships, and we have another one about family. This one is about the absence of either, and it is something that is personally quite terrifying to me. We also are asking a question with at least two of the short films (VR Food and Jeff Drives You): is it still isolation when one's company is a machine? See what you think!

A young man alone in his apartment decides to get to the bottom of some paranormal activity interrupting his video gaming.

Filmmaker and fellow film festival madman Justin McConnell put together one of the most entertaining and clever short films of the crop I have yet seen popping up that were filmed in isolation while in quarantine. Clever practical effects, some absolutely hilarious, leading to some truly amusing twists and turns make this a genuine treat! -Miguel
