When it comes right down to it, for my own personal tastes, monsters rule the roost. Monsters are the source of my love for the genre, they are the characters I most immediately empathize with, and they always will have a segment in my festival. Beyond that, though, monsters serve one of the greatest purposes in horror storytelling: they serve to explain the unknown, give face to our fear, and find some order in chaos. More than that, since monsters are not real (sorry), they are so well suited to metaphor and interpretation, a key characteristic that lends a layer of depth that one can take or leave. Here there be monsters!!!!

Director: Miguel Ferrer - Fresh off his feature directorial debut FFC for LionsGate, MIGUEL FERRER has directed Super Bowl and national campaigns in both the North American and Hispanic markets, for clients such as NBC UNIVERSAL, PEPSICO, FORD, and CADILLAC.

A former National Geographic cameraman and Warner Bros. TV Post Supervisor, Miguel has also written, produced, and directed over 50 music videos for Sony Music, Universal Music, Warners Music Group, and independent artists. His videos have been nominated for VIDEO OF THE YEAR and have reached the top of the Billboard charts and have garnered millions of hits on YouTube.

Miguel’s unique experience has helped him achieve a signature cinematic aesthetic considered to be a “game changer” in the Hispanic music industry. This has made him one the most sought after directors in the Latin-American market.

A graduate of the University of Miami, Miguel relocated to the United States as a teenager from his native Venezuela, where he displayed his creative passion for cinema at an early age.
