Director Statement

METHOD was born out of our shared passion for character-driven cinema and high-concept narratives. The theme of identity told through the lens of method acting proved to be the catalyst for Gideon's journey. Given our combined 15-year journey in the film industry cutting our teeth on a multitude of award-winning shorts, music videos, and screenplays, we are fully committed and prepared to embark on our first feature that bridges the gap from our hard-fought experience to a truly soulful, visceral, and revelatory story that aims to honor our major influences such as Park Chan-Wook, Bong Joon-ho, and Jordan Peele while inspiring the next generation of auteur filmmakers.

METHOD is a culmination of the struggles we’ve battled through and a rallying cry for the underdog to persevere against all odds. Mining the true experience of Ryan’s dad dying when he first moved to Hollywood to pursue his passion to become a distinguished cinema writer/director, we’re aspiring to dig deep and channel our most intimate and vulnerable stories so we can create an authentic picture that will resonate with the international audience. Nkosi’s quest of developing his own personal identity amidst the world’s most competitive industry where you’re celebrated more by what you do than by who you are is infused in every emotionally rich scene. Producing this picture isn’t a hope or a dream–producing this picture is as necessary as the air we breathe and the only thing we’re missing is a production company to match our courage and grit and commitment to excellence.
