NEW FILE HAS BEEN UPLOADED

It is not hard to imagine our world being ripped apart by civil war. Maybe a few years ago, it was unthinkable that any democratic country could see citizens turn against each other and commit horrific atrocities, but now it's not only possible but it does not seem that far away. This is where Martin Laroche begins his latest film, LAUGHTER. A civil war has erupted in Quebec where Valérie (Léane Labrèche-Dor) escapes the war alive, but only after surviving a terrible mass execution which took the life of her lover. Eight years later, she works as a caregiver with the elderly and has a new partner, but the war cannot be easily forgotten. The struggle Valérie endures every day is to find meaning in why she survived when so many did not.
