Leading Ladies reflects how guilt affects us in different ways based on our perspective or memories. A welcome dinner is the excuse to discover that we always keep a secret from who know us the best. Five points of view that show us that each of these five girls tries, as best they can, to lead their own lives. Some lies have been saved for years, other where hidden for months… But many of them will come to light during this special meeting. English subtitles

Tish is pleased to welcome Rebecca Shoptaw to “The Female Gaze” to talk about Leading Ladies and perspectives in storytelling. As a filmmaker, Rebecca has played with perspectives by reimagining classic literature (<a href="https://www.rebeccashoptaw.com/middlemarch-the-series" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Middlemarch: The Series</a>) and giving new, queer, life to the poetry of Shakespeare (<a href="https://www.rebeccashoptaw.com/sonnet-23" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Sonnet 23</a>) and Sappho (Girl, Sweetvoiced).Centered around Leading Ladies, Tish and Rebecca had a conversation about perspectives in storytelling, the uses of multiple points of view, and, of course, how the female gaze is also a perspective.
