If you have ever wondered about all the roles that go into a film production, here’s a chance to learn from some of the hard working behind-the-scenes practitioners. From script to make-up to coordinating extras, you’ll hear about the various aspects that go into these varied and essential roles.


The National Talent Academies network is an initiative of Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland. The overarching aim of the National Talent Academies is to address and support current educational skills gaps in the screen sector. With a focus on diversity and inclusion across all Academy initiatives, its ambition is to drive more Irish talent from all backgrounds and disciplines into the sector and develop greater awareness of the sector as a career path.

Greg Keeley - Model Maker

Greg is the owner of APE Ltd, a prop manufacturing company servicing the film and TV industries in Ireland and abroad. Having studied modelmaking as a diploma in IADT, Greg went on to complete a degree in the Arts Institute at Bournemouth and continues to upskill via the various National Talent Academies courses. His credits include Game of Thrones, Halo Nightfall and Foundation TV series, as well as Dracula Untold, The Green Knight and Disenchanted.


Sarah-Beth Henry - Trainee AD

Sarah Beth studied Journalism through Irish. She has worked in a variety of roles in the production department including The Irish Revolution, Cleas Act and River Dance: The Animation. She gained experince working in television on the renowned Irish soap ‘Ros na Rún’, through a work placement funded in part by the National Talent Academies. She is currently working as an assistant director on ‘Ros na Rún.’


Luci Lane - Locations

Trainee Luci graduated from TV and Film Production at Limerick College of Further Education in 2021. In 2022 she completed ‘Screen Production Department Skills’, a Springboard course, then 'Skills for Locations Trainees’, a course organised by The National Talent Academies. Production Assistant on Underdogs (TG4). Film credits include Locations Trainee on 'The Pope's Exorcist’ and 'God’s Spy'. Ronan Grace - Animation Production and Script Coordinator Ronan is a Production and Script Coordinator. A Graduate of IADT in Broadcast Production for Radio and Television(MABP). He has more than a decade in the industry working on shows like Republic of Telly, the Fear and Clear History. Since January 2022 he has been working in animation, first on upcoming RTE series Flix and currently on the second season of Sir Mouse for Avalon Films


Laura O Shea - Director/Producer/Actor

Laura is an Oscar & BAFTA qualifying director & writer from Limerick City. Her latest directorial work 'Wednesday's Child' won the Tiernan McBride Award for 'Best Short Drama' at the 34th Galway Film Fleadh, making her the first female director to receive the honor in over 20 years. Currently, she is being supported in a Shadow Director Role by the National Talent Academy on Season 2 of 'Hidden Assets'."
