Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics. Art influences society by changing opinions, instilling values and translating experiences across space and time. Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time, whether it be dance, music, painting or something else.
After seeing a video of a beautiful dancer, a sweet young girl decides to become one too. However, she is very shy...
Juror comments: Love this film! The short student film Dance! is a sweet story that most of us have experienced - that is, when we pursue an inspired dream all the way into reality. It is both terrifying and rewarding! The animation, music and sound express the fright and the joy of persevering our souls journey, regardless of the risk. Most little girls have the dream of becoming a ballerina, but only the exceptionally committed artists rise above their fears of an artist’s life and bring their talent and skill level into fruition, thus inspiring the next generation of dreamers. I love it!
I give Dance 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 4 to 12, plus adults. By Nancy K., KIDS FIRST!
