Playback presents 12 of Ireland's best Hip Hop and R&B music videos. The documentary follows the creative processes of the featured film directors and music artists as they talk about inspirations, style and collaborations. Presented by Irish Film Festival Australia in association with the Virgin International Dublin Film Festival and produced with funding from the Arts Council of Ireland and Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, Playback is a celebration of contemporary Irish culture and vibrant creativity, showcasing the modern sound of Ireland.

Featuring standout artists Mango X Mathman, Denise Chaila, For Those I Love, Biig Piig, Kojaque, James Vincent McMorrow, Tolü Makay, Loah & Bantum, Gemma Dunleavy, Jafaris, God Knows and Rejjie Snow, Snoh Aalegra & Cam O’Bi, the programme showcases how they worked with the directors to bring the vision of their songs to life.
