Checco is an illegal taxi driver in Naples. He brings around the most various customers at all hours of the day, and especially at night, when the discos are open. His job leads him to gradually move away from his family, his wife Manuela and his daughter Sofia, with whom he tries to restore a relationship but without much success. In addition, his collaboration with a pusher, Tony, drags him into shady and dangerous affairs, leading him to alienate himself and use drugs. But he sees in a young client, Viola, with whom he falls madly in love, a way out of his routine. So he begins to think only of her and how to conquer her, finally losing what little relationship he has left with his family.
