Natural history filmmaking is renowned for taking viewers to all corners of the world, however these programs are often told through the eyes of the west. Meanwhile reducing carbon emissions, increasing diversity and supporting local talent are all topics that are continuously raised within the industry. Hiring local talent addresses all these points but why have we still not managed to improve this? We ask local talent in the East and Producer/Directors in the West what are the barriers and solutions to hiring local talent in developing countries in Asia? We cover topics ranging from: technical expertise, finance, access to talent pools and time constraints.

To learn more about this topic and contribute to a live conversation about solutions, please join us for the Action Coalition: Elevating Global Voices and Local Storytellers meetup in Remo on September 30th at 1pm EST/ 7pm CEST/ 10:30pm IST
