Introduction by Director Jacca Deeble

Jacca Deeble, Wildland

This short documentary was part of an initiative to record and demonstrate the unique, biodiverse marine habitats of the Scottish north coast in the hope of creating a case for local marine protection.

The focus of the film, and the accompanying marine survey for Wildland Ltd, is the most remote stretch of coast on the UK mainland - 40 miles of towering limestone cliffs, sandy bays, estuaries, islands and a deep-water sea loch. The varied geology has created a wide range of marine habitats which support biodiverse marine communities but while largely unspoilt, they have suffered from industrial aquaculture.
