Three Chileans travel to the center of the Amazon rainforest in Suriname to teach a Matawai community in a small village on the banks of the Saramaka River how to rock climb. This would not only become a hobby for them but an opportunity to generate income without having to cut the forest or mine for gold because both industries are responsible for the massive destruction of the environment in that country.

Climbing and tourism can be very effective tools to fight against environmental problems if they are developed in the right way, this is a journey through the heart of one of the most unknown countries in the world that today shows us a unique history under the shadow of its spectacular jungle

Tres Chilenos viajan hasta el centro de la selva amazónica en Suriname motivados por enseñar y acercar a una comunidad Matawai que vive en una pequeña aldea a orillas de río Saramaka a escalar en su rocas, esto no se convertiría solo en un hobby para ellos si no que en una posibilidad de trabajo en torno al turismo en una región que hoy ofrece solo trabajo en mineria y madereras siendo ambas industrias las responsables de la destrucción masiva de la increíble selva de surinam, haremos un viaje a través de este increíble país, con todos sus colores y sonidos, y al mismo tiempo mostraremos lo frágil que pueden ser sus ecosistemas ante la tremenda amenaza que suponen las industrias extractivas en el país.

La escalada y el turismo outdoor pueden resultar una alternativa para generar recursos sin necesidad de cortar la selva para extraer madera o oro.
