Fungi Foundation

Set in the wonderful landscape of Araucanía, the short film is a poetic contemplation of what the wonderful world of fungi can teach us in their role as decomposers of all that lives in the forest. The lesson they offer lies in reflecting on the importance of allowing for natural cycles of degeneration to unfold, bringing us to reconsider the so called end of a life as a transition leading towards new beginnings. A visual journey with Chilean mycologist Giuliana Furci through images of our southern forests, the short film touches on the beauty and importance of these ecosystems while delving into the significance of decomposition and what it means for the world.
