Baba Koichi (49) is the head of the design department at a construction company and has just transferred to Tokyo from Kagoshima. He has little regard for his family and constantly quarrels with his wife and daughter. At work, he acts selfishly and is viewed with contempt by those around him. One day, Koichi is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but he cannot accept it and is left alone. On the recommendation of his doctor, Koichi starts attending PD SMILE, a rehabilitation facility for Parkinson's disease. However, being an introvert, Koichi struggles to communicate with his peers at the facility.

Gradually, he begins to come out of his shell and faces his Parkinson's disease positively through his first dance experience at PD SMILE and an encounter with a photographer he admires, whom he falsely claims to be. The medication that had been ineffective starts to work, and he begins to bond with his subordinates at work after confiding in them about his Parkinson's disease, which improves his isolated situation.

At his estranged wife's dance contest, Koichi showcases the dance he has been practicing with great dedication in front of a large audience. Koichi's wife and daughter are moved by his significant change, and the family relationship is restored.

馬場功一（49）は建設会社の設計部の部長で、鹿児島から東京に異動してきたばかりである。家庭を顧みず、妻や娘とは喧嘩ばかり。職場でも自分本位に行動をしていて、周囲から煙たがられている。ある日、功一はパーキンソン病と診断されるが、それを受け入れられず、一人孤独を抱えてしまう。功一は主治医の勧めで、パーキンソン病のリハビリ施設「PD SMILE」に通い出すが、内向的な功一は、施設の仲間ともコミュニケーションを図ることができなかった。会社での左遷や家族の離散などで追い詰められる功一だが、偽って名乗っていた憧れの写真家との出会いや、PD SMILEでの初めてのダンス体験より、少しずつ自分の殻を打ち破っていき、パーキンソン病とも前向きに向き合っていくこととなる。効き目が無かった薬も効きだし、職場でも自身のパーキンソン病を打ち明けたことで部下との絆が結ばれていき、孤立していた状況が改善されていく。そして、別居中の妻から呼び出されて出向いた娘のダンスコンテストで、功一はひたむきに練習してきたダンスを大観衆の前で披露する。大きな変化を遂げた功一の姿に、妻と娘は心を打たれ、家族の関係を取り戻すことになる。
