Iwao, a game nerd living in Kushiro, Hokkaido and leading an uneventful life, learns that his hometown, Kushiro, alongside Shanghai and Busan, is being considered as a potential location for the next installment of a globally successful game he and his friends were obsessed with in middle school. Living alone with his mother, who runs a shop in the market, Iwao decides to showcase the potential of Kushiro—a port city that could become northern Singapore once the Northern Sea Route opens—to the world and increase tourism. Together with his childhood friends, including Akari, who has returned from Tokyo, he strives to attract the game creator to use Kushiro as the location. While they overcome their biggest crisis and prepare for the international presentation, Iwao still has one promise left to keep...

変わり映えのしない日々を過ごしていた釧路在住のゲームオタクの巌（渡邊圭祐）は、中学時代に友達と熱中した世界的ヒットゲームの次回作の舞台の候補地に、上海と釜山と並び、地元・釧路が挙がっていることを知る。市場で店を開く母と二人暮らしの巌は、ゲームの世界を通して、北極海航路開通時には北のシンガポールともなりえる港湾都市「釧路」が持つポテンシャルを世界に発信し、観光客を増やそうと考え、東京から戻ってきた燈（葵わかな）ら幼馴染たちと共に、ゲームのロケ誘致を目指して奮闘する。最大のピンチを乗り越え、国際プレゼンの準備が進む一方で、巌にはやり残したことがあった…。
