A box office smash in Korea, Samjin Company English Class takes place in 1995. Its heroines are three women: Ja-young (Go Ah-sung, The Host, Snowpiercer), Yoo-na (model and actress Esom), and Bo-ram (K-pop singer Park Hye-su). Working for the titular company andfed up with doing menial tasks in a sexist corporate atmosphere, they enroll in the company’s English-language class to try to improve their prospects. One day Ja-young discovers that the company is polluting a local waterway, so the three friends use their skills to expose the cover-up. This comedy-drama is Korea’s answer to Nine to Five.
