Having been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, Athanassios Pavlis (aka Tommy King), brings a wealth of real life experience to the film business. Having written and directed the award winning short, Forbidden Fruit, in 2010. It played at 8 worldwide film festivals and won the International Film Festival in Johannesburg South Africa, and the Gold Kahuna Award at the Honolulu International Film Festival. He was an associate producer with the film Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story, starring Christina Ricci and Judith Light, which won the WIN award for Best Made-For-TV Movie in 2019. He recently served as associate producer on the Lifetime Film The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story which was #1 on Apple TV on its debut weekend. Tommy has now shot his feature film debut, Sgt. Fruit Fly, a coming of age film about a young boy who is a victim of bullying and with his mother’s secret potion becomes a national hero. The film was shot in Athens, Greece in 2023 with an eclectic mix of established Canadian and Greek talent.
