Marisol is a headstrong woman who lived most of her life in the city. She now resides in the Cuban countryside with her beloved but fragile husband. She experiences many difficulties whilst working with peasant men (guajiros), in the cane fields. Her rival is a presumptuous cane cutter who is a champion in the field. She tries to use every possible means to defeat her rival and win the Russian manufactured automobile “Lada “.
