Mountains tower above the plains and dominate the skyline. Critical to life - they fill our rivers, sway the weather, and provide sanctuary to incredibly diverse wildlife. They are as beautiful as they are dangerous - and for a brave few, they are the source of incredible adventure. Follow Olympian Torah Bright as she journeys through the world’s longest chain of mountain ranges extending from Antarctica all the way to Alaska. Along the journey, Torah will ride with backcountry legend Jeremy Jones and freeskiing superstar Sammy Carlson. Together, they will encounter penguins, polar bears, and other wildlife, and meet with scientists and environmentalists to uncover a deeper understanding of our mountain ecosystems. From glaciated valleys to icy tundras, we’ll venture through the mountain’s most awe-inspiring vistas. We’ll discover the crucial role mountains play in our every day lives and for the world, while witnessing the most spectacular snowboard action ever brought to the giant screen!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Out of Bounds is a multi-platform media program designed to connect affinity with cause. The giant screen film is the centerpiece providing seamless integration, cross-platform derivative content, and community building. It’s one of the biggest snow-related projects ever! Out of Bounds aims to educate people of all ages about the science behind some of the world’s most majestic natural wonders.

Caspar Mazzotti takes on many roles — Director, Cinematographer and Editor — but most recently he has been carving out a name for himself in the Giant Screen world with credits in several IMAX films. Caspar directed the ski/snowboard film "Mountain Adventure" (formerly "Out of Bounds: Mountain Adventure"), filming with Olympian Torah Bright from Antarctica to the Arctic, capturing penguins, polar bears and the dizzying heights of big mountain riding. Caspar was Co-Director and Cinematographer on the 2019 big screen wildlife blockbuster "Turtle Odyssey 3D", capturing animal behavior everywhere from the Great Barrier Reef to Sri Lanka and Hawaii. Caspar was also Cinematographer and Editor on the 3D natural history adventure "Australia’s Great Wild North", which saw him filming crocodiles for a year in the swamps of Australia’s Northern Territory.

Caspar’s storytelling skill on the big screen comes from a strong foundation as an Editor for documentary television. He has cut shows for all the major networks including National Geographic, Discovery, ABC and The History Channel. He won 'Best Editing in a Documentary Series’ at the 2014 Australian Screen Editors awards for the critically acclaimed ABC natural history series "Kakadu", and was nominated for the same award in 2016 for the ABC documentary series "Life on the Reef".
