A queer sixteen-year-old girl, Mahina, must navigate life on the streets, until she eventually finds refuge at the Pu’uhonua o Wai’anae––Hawaiʻi’s largest organized homeless encampment.

The Mainland follows aspiring actor, Ikaika, as he navigates the wave of Hollywood diversity when his small town cousin, Kekoa, unexpectedly shows up on his Holly-hood doorstep bringing a punch of much needed aloha.
