Building a Better School System: Reimagining Education in the Wake of COVID-19

“My Name is Pedro,” a documentary film by Lillian LaSalle, follows South Bronx Latino maverick educator Pedro Santana on his personal and professional journey in public education. Pedro’s story is that of an everyday hero, reminding us of the positive and lasting impact that one caring and determined individual can have on the lives of others and that each of us has the power to serve as a catalyst for positive reform.

We invite you to join us for an engaging conversation about the role of diversity in our school system and how COVID-19 has exposed cracks in this system that we must urgently address. We will explore how immigration has impacted demographics in New York and beyond, discuss programs that encourage inclusion and diversity, and address questions of access and technology going forward.
