SUNDOWN TRAIL is set in the near future in a post-apocalyptic world where toxic mushrooms have made the air deadly to breathe. The film begins as Ethan and his son, Thomas are out in the woods looking to harvest spores from these same deadly mushrooms. But after a group of bandits ambush them and expose Ethan to the toxins, Thomas must strike out on his own if he hopes to get more antidote and save his father. His trip is interrupted when he stumbles upon the same bandits who robbed them. They've had a falling out and the ensuing gunfight left one dead, one injured, and one missing. Now Thomas must make a choice, does he leave the injured bandit to die, or does he do the hard thing and help him? Thomas decides to help the man. But before he can leave, the last bandit arrives and Thomas is forced to make the hardest decision yet, kill or be killed.
