NIGHT RAIDERS

The year is 2043. A military occupation controls disenfranchised cities in post-war North America. Children are property of the State. A desperate Cree woman joins an underground band of vigilantes to infiltrate a State children's academy and get her daughter back.

YULÍ is a journey through the reflections of a young middle-class Colombian; who, influenced by the news media, struggles with her fears and prejudices towards a neighborhood that has a bad reputation. YULÍ is the first animated film by Patrick Dionne and Miki Gingras, it won the award for best experimental film at Cannes short film festival in France, at the Veracruz short film in Mexico and at the Alternative film festival in Canada.


Since 1999, Patrick Dionne and Miki Gingras have been producing photographic Works inspired by social, political and cultural issues. Like visual anthropologists, they explore the relationship between individuals and their environment. They use photomontage, sequences and animation to create subjective worlds. Their artistic creations promote dialogue between northern and southern cultural traditions through an intuitive approach in which a sense of community is paramount. They create public works and photographic murals. They have received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, Quebec and Montreal, carried out exhibitions, artist residencies and participated in festivals in Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
