This powerful WWII tale of courage and compassion draws inspiration from the Cinderella folktale and revolves around the remarkable journey of Stella, a 20-year-old Jewish student. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she loses contact with her parents in Germany and finds herself penniless while studying at Oxford. Faced with impending war and driven by the desperate search for her missing family, Stella takes on a job as a German tutor at the House of Rig in Scotland (played by Gary Lewis from Gangs of New York and Susan Vidler from Trainspotting). However, her initial hopes of safety are shattered when she uncovers that the Rig family supports the fascist regime that has gained influence in the region. As tensions escalate and facing daily fear, Stella finds herself entangled in a romantic relationship that compromises the greatest secret she must protect at all costs, her true identity.
