In this heartfelt Israeli film that explores the dynamics of a mother-son relationship, Halina Birenbaum, a Holocaust survivor and renowned author, is accompanied somewhat hesitantly by her son, Yakov Gilad, a celebrated Israeli songwriter, on her annual journey to Poland. While retracing her extraordinary survival story during a book signing tour, Yakov discovers new insights about his mother, the deep Jewish-Polish connection, and the reception of Holocaust survivors in Israel after the war.
