This deeply moving documentary chronicles the tragic story of the Bibas-Silberman family with Argentine roots, whose lives were brutally shattered during the October 7 massacre in Israel. Crafted with sensitivity and precision by Argentine journalist Alfredo Leuco, alongside director Mariana Bellini and producer Gabriel Ben-Tasgal, the film offers an intimate exploration of loss and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
Through the lens of personal testimonies, archival footage, and meticulous reporting, the documentary brings to life the last moments of Shiri Bibas, a devoted mother, and her two young sons, Ariel and Kfir, captured by terrorists in a heart-wrenching sequence. Their father, Yarden Bibas, was taken separately, while Shiri’s parents, Yossi and Margit Silberman, were also murdered in their home. These events, devastating in their scope, are portrayed with profound empathy, honoring the memory of an Argentine-Israeli family whose story resonates far beyond national borders.
Bibas: Murdered for Being Jews transcends a single tragedy to serve as a universal meditation on grief and the profound human capacity for remembrance. It is both a tribute to the Argentine Bibas-Silberman family and a call to bear witness to history, honoring the lives cut tragically short.
