Inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), and the art and writing of feminist painter Saribenne Evesong (1931-2009), Declarations uses art, and the art of movement, to examine empathy as a facilitator of sustainable love, peace, and justice.

Declarations

Angie is a single mother working two low-paying jobs. She has no health insurance, and her state has not chosen to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. As Angie battles an undiagnosed illness, she struggles against he rlack of health options and the stigma against people who need help.

Living in the Gap

MÉBÉT tells the story of one girl’s attempt to turn the tragedies of the past into lessons for the future. It is a conversation across generations to deliver positive change. The film showcasesaspects of West-African culture to counter the negative narratives about the continent, and portray the reality of our journeys through stories of resilience and hope.
