ESSENTIALLY CRIMINAL is a documentary that sheds light on the state of the American Asylum system, the lack of legal protection for essential migrant farmworkers, border militarization, and the humanitarian aid response in the US-Mexico Border region.

Inherently immigrants are criminalized for pursuing their lawful right to asylum in this country; meanwhile, the Border Patrol Agency is riddled with corruption and malpractice. This documentary posits the question of who is the real criminal in America's 'Crimmigration' system.
