Filmed in Winston-Salem and Germanton, NC by a group of University of North Carolina School of the Arts grads, The Arbors follows Ethan (Drew Matthews, Bluff City Law), a lonely, reclusive locksmith struggling to keep ties with his younger brother. Ethan’s ordinary life takes an unsettling turn after finding a small, spider-like creature which he captures and hides in his garage. Is it an unknown species? A laboratory experiment? Or something more? Now, the quick-growing creature has broken loose and a string of gruesome, unexplained murders are terrorizing Ethan's small, country community. Men in white Hazmat suits are scouring the woods. The town people are filled with panic and paranoia. And as Ethan's private, introverted world gives way beneath him, he finds himself trapped in a larger, even more-terrifying arena.
