Director's Bio


Tony Morales was born in Málaga. Studied Film and Video Production in Madrid (I.E.S. La Director’s Arboleda). Lover of genre cinema since very young age.


In 2014 he shot his first short film, “Ku”, with which he obtained 11 international selections. His second short film, “Hada”, achieves more than 260 selections and 60 international awards, including: Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Telluride Horror Show, Fantasporto, NYC Horror Film Festival, Nightmares Film Festival, Les Enfants terribles, Comicpalooza Film Festival and FilmQuest.


In 2017 he went back to behind the cameras and filmed the legendary CreepyPasta “Black Eyed Child”, whose world premiere was held in the prestigious Fantasporto, had a great tour of festivals with more than 90 selections and more than 20 international awards.


His latest work, “Abracitos“, is Tony Morales’ most complex project to date. It had its “World Premiere” at the Fantasia International Film Festival and its “American Premiere” at the Fantastic Fest.

Abracitos has had one of the best starts of a short film in horror genre festivals of the last decade, including runs in Screamfest Horror Film Festival, The Overlook Film Festival, Popcorn Frights, Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, iHorror Film Festival, Telluride Horror Show, Nightmare Film Festival, Morbid Film Fest, New York City Horror Film Festival, etc.


Abracitos won the award for the Scariest Short Film at both The Overlook Film Festival and the Popcorn Frights Film Festival, the Bronze Audience Award for Best International Short at the Fantasia International Film Festival and has also been nominated several times for the Melies D’Argent.
