In the scorching summer of 1989, two teenagers, Anne and Sissel, set out for a cabin retreat at Lake Sunshine 1989 with their dog, Fluffy. Their peaceful day takes a dark turn when Anne receives a call from Sheriff Morten, warning them of an escaped inmate from a nearby mental institution headed their way. They’re told to seek safety indoors, lock up, and alert the sheriff if they spot the fugitive.

Following the call, a series of events is set in motion where both girls confront a life-changing choice that could strain their friendship.
