After the sudden death of their older brother, Dezzy and Oscar move to Northern Ontario to spend the summer with their chain-smoking grandma. When Oscar becomes preoccupied with trying to impress their overconfident cousin, Dezzy seeks refuge in a mysterious creature she sees in the woods.

Set in a remote area of the Canadian forest where people waste their time and there is something spectacularly unsettling about the woods, 'Middle of Nowhere' explores grief as the unknown.
