MALCOLM DRAPER


Malcolm Draper was born August 5th, 1943 in Southhampton, Hampshire, England. Like many animators on the 'Yellow Submarine" he started as a trainee assistant animator at Halas and Batchelor Studios in London working on the TV Series "The Lone Ranger". After he worked on TV commercials, and then with TVC on "The Beatles" Saturday morning cartoon series, he began working on the "Yellow Submarine" in 1967 with TVC studios. After Submarine, Draper enjoyed a long and varied career as a freelance animator working in Barcelona, London, Hollywood and Paris. His credits include animating on the Academy Award winning film "A Christmas Carol", and many other features and commercials with TVC and other studios. He has also written and illustrated several children's books. Draper became a part-time consultant/lecturer at the University of Lincoln for several years before retiring completely.
