‘The Girls are not Brides’ is a documentary film on early child marriage. Child marriage is a strong social custom in Bangladesh and has the fourth highest rate of child marriage in the world. Due to cultural setting, girls are regarded here as an economic burden and are expected to marry very young. So, for millions of girls in Bangladesh, marriage comes so soon and the damage follows them throughout their lives. This film is not only focusing on the negative situation facing of girls; the main intention has been given on four different successes stories of some girls, those who have stood up against child marriage and ultimately succeeded and established themselves in the society . These heroic and victorious examples will encourage girls to decide their own destiny while showing their parents a way to be supportive of their decision rather than regarding them as an economic burden. Child marriage is just only a social obsession and nothing else moreover it is also a massive violating of child right. So this film can use globally to change peoples’ perception and create awareness.

This documentary short is based on the awarding winning book SHOT DOWN: The true story of pilot Howard Snyder and the crew of the B-17 Susan Ruth written by Steve Snyder. After being shot down by by German fighters over occupied Belgium on February 8, 1944, Steve's father Howard was missing in action for seven months but evaded capture. He was hidden by members of the Belgian Underground for several months and then joined the French Resistance to fight against the Germans. The film is a tribute to Howard, members of the 8th Air Force who fought the air war over Europe during World War II, and to the courageous Belgian patriots who risked their lives to help downed airmen. It also includes Steve's amazing discovery of and resulting friendship with Hans Berger, the German Luftwaffe pilot who shot down the B-17 Susan Ruth, and at the same time, who was shot down by the gunners on Howard's bomber crew.

Over the past 3 years, we have been developing a short documentary film centered around protecting the Boundary Waters. The film's focus is on the people who help spread appreciation for the land and carry on, in their own individual ways, the legacy of Sigurd Olson, a writer and conservationist who was responsible for the area's National Forest designation in 1978.The goal of the film is to reiterate the importance of human interaction with nature and preserving the places on earth that still allow for it. Threats to the Boundary Waters have taken many forms over time, but the dedication to keeping them safe has endured.Today, more than ever, we must realize what is at stake if we fail to protect these wild lands. We each carry our own ability to protect this place, just as Sig did. With enough understanding and enthusiasm to protect these lands, the generations to come will not hesitate in picking up right where Sig left off.
