Join the Open Television (OTV) leadership team (Elijah McKinnon, Sarah Minnie, and Chris Walker) as they peel back the layers to highlight their process for decolonizing independent distribution models. Anchoring their ethos and practice through a lens that returns power back to QTBIPOC artists, learn about OTV's approach to curating intersectional content for a global audience, how they use distribution as a tool for artist development and more. Utilizing an invigorating, hybrid workshop/panel format, Loose Framing creates space for emerging creators to get up close and personal with industry professionals.

About the Workshop Facilitators:
Elijah McKinnon (they/them) is an award-winning strategist, entrepreneur and visionary from the future currently residing on planet earth. They are the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Emmy-nominated streaming platform and non-profit, Open Television (OTV). Over the past decade, they have worked tirelessly to create brave and equitable spaces for intersectional communities to thrive. Through various non-profit and grassroots initiatives, Elijah has raised over $10 million dollars toward amplifying the lived experiences of people with disabilities, gender minorities, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ identified individuals and many other intersectional communities marginalized by market and society. Sarah Minnie (she/her) is a storyteller - a video witch - a digital artist. Sarah’s magic as a Producer and Director has led her in “bippity boppy boop-ing” content such as; commercials, fashion films, music videos, web series, pilots, short films, a feature and more. Her work has been published in VOGUE, The Chicago Tribune, Hyperlink Magazine, Women & Hollywood, and in film festivals such as DC Black Film Festival, NYC Web Fest, Austin Film Festival. Sarah’s work illuminates the power of being authentic, bold, abolishing barriers and creating unapologetic content which come in handy when serving as the Head of Artist Development and Production for Open Television (OTV). Chris Walker’s (they/them) life work revolves around creating space for and uplifting marginalized communities in the arts and non-profit sectors. Equipped with a musician’s mind and museum exhibition background complemented by business training, they center marginalized storytellers with a combination of production, technical direction, and marketing as Head of Marketing and Exhibitions for OTV | Open Television.
