Workshop Description:
In a world still dominated by white and phenotypically white stories or white gazes, how do we ensure that space exists for QTBIPOC stories made for us by us, but that also have universal appeal to ensure the filmmakers future in white-centred spaces.
To highlight the growth and importance of the festival to QTBIPOC throughout its 20-year life thus far – specifically from a curatorial perspective, we sit down with Outfest Fusion programmers past and present: Irene Soriano, Josslyn Glenn, Mara Tatevosian, Tishon Pugh and Rico Johnson-Sinclair in conversation with founding Fusion programmer Eve Oishi.
Many of our programmers exist both in and out of queer curatorial spaces so this will be a rich conversation on what FUSION has taught us about the role of curators in different spaces.
Accessibility:
Automated captions will be available for live virtual workshops. To request accommodations, fill out the Accessibility Request Form, or email us at: accessibility@outfest.org with at least 48 hours notice. Visit our Accessibility page for more details.
