Sascha has been working in the Berlin brothel “Queens” for many years. Maria is the new Italian girl; she is independent, maverick and queer. Sascha is immediately drawn to this otherness, and Maria in turn is fascinated by Sascha’s supreme ease. The attraction becomes a love that works differently than anything they have experienced before. Yet this promise of great happiness starts to tremble because of their fear of showing each other their true selves. Filmed with precision and a lightness of touch, Bliss tells a love story set in a place where the female body is a commodity and depicts two charismatic sex workers who manage to charm the viewer just as much as everyone around them.
