NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE

A Ukrainian provincial schoolteacher who wants to strengthen her family bond and to pay off some loans, thinks she has found a way to do both. She persuades her husband and children to register for “Lessons of Tolerance”, a government program on acceptance. The family takes the bait of favorable preferential terms and enrolls in the program. According to the regulations, a gay person, settles in their apartment to show them that LGBTQ people are just like everyone else. In this satire, the “chosen” family will learn a lot more than tolerance. Lessons of Tolerance is one of the first Ukrainian films exploring the topic of LGBTQ+ rights, discrimination, and human rights in general and is a lot of fun and laughs!
