Cherri is a 55-year-old gay man undergoing a new weight reduction therapy at a clinic. As he navigates this journey, his will to live grows when he meets Tim, a security guard at Cuba’s soon-to-be first McDonald’s. Their connection sparks a mix of desire and friendship, but Cherri soon realizes that longing and companionship, fast food and punk, psychology and healing, all pull him in different directions. As he confronts these contradictions, he must decide what truly nourishes him—both physically and emotionally—on his path toward self-acceptance and fulfillment. Cherri is a slow, beautiful rollercoaster ride of emotions that come with loving someone so hard.
