A wooden doll who desperately wants to fit in makes an ill-fated wish upon a star, sparking a journey of self-discovery. Her desire to blend in with her peers leads her down a harmful path, challenging her perspective of both who she is and where she belongs.


Director Bio/Statement:

After graduating from UCLA, Searit Huluf moved to Oakland and began working in production at Pixar Animation Studios in 2016. She has directed numerous short films, such as buna, GAMERS, Exploring Blackness, and 19th Amendment Doc. She most recently directed Pixar’s upcoming SparkShort “Self," releasing on February 2 on Disney+.
