He is a proud alumni of the Film Independent Project Involve program, the Producer’s Guild Of America Creates program and Temple University. He is also a member of the Producer’s Guild of America and the Television Academy.

He passed away on March 28th, 2020 and is survived by his wife, Eula Scott Bynoe, and his son, Livingston Scott Bynoe.

In the 1960s, 13-year-old Obafemi must decide whether to follow in his family's carpentry business or pursue his dream of becoming a musician. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/cf1114a236a99f5a93f808d62a7e169e.jpg" width="148">Director Bio/Statement:Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Toye Aru is a multi-talented audio-visual artist and budding African filmmaker. He studied Media Practice at the University of Sussex in England where he shot his first short film “Unexpected Visitors”. He returned home to work in several production companies and served as part of the production team who produced the Netflix documentary “Awon Boyz”. He directed the Big Brother Nigeria “Pepper Dem” reality show season promos and has also served as a cinematographer for commercials and corporate documentaries. Toye acquired his Master of Fine Arts degree in Cinematography from the prestigious New York Film Academy photographing numerous short films and music video projects where he also served as the music producer. Additionally, he is an experienced film producer with a demonstrated history of working in the broadcast media industry. A young Nigerian who believes he can make a difference; he is exploring the convergence of film, music, and media, crafting a niche for himself.
