Director Biography - Jaclyn Vogl
Jaclyn Vogl is an actress, photographer and filmmaker born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Her passion for storytelling is rooted in the training she received as a member of Straeon Acting Studios, where artists practice intuitive storytelling through the exploration of character and relationship, approaching their work with open hearts in order to create a space for the story to appear. It is with this training and outlook that Jaclyn approaches all of her creative work.
Jaclyn is one of the founders of Hysterical Hearts Collective, alongside Melissa Paulson, Sarah Slywchuk and Nora Smith. An actor driven collective, Hysterical Hearts uses the tools of the actor - rehearsal, character work, the exchange of energy between actors in relationship to each other - in their approach to telling stories and making films.
Savage Breakup is the first project from Hysterical Hearts Collective, and marks Jaclyn's debut as a director and cinematographer.
As an actor Jackie has appeared in Spiral: From the Book of Saw (Lionsgate), Twinkle All the Way (Lifetime), Falling Water (USA Network), Little Wars (webseries) and a variety of comedy sketches with The Cameron Brothers.
