Three remarkable medium length short films by three incredible female filmmakers from Austria and Denmark.

Liv, who has OCD, is about to start high school. She falls in love with extrovert Anna, but how are you supposed to give in to your feelings, when you’re afraid of kissing and see germs, mold, and maggots everywhere?

Director Statement

I have OCD and I’m so tired of hearing people using the illness as an adjective, thinking it’s a personality trait or simply not knowing what it is. This I will try to change with this film.

On top of that I have, as a director, been wanting to explore the experience of living with OCD in a film. To me it is a very audio-visual condition which I wanted to take out of my head and on to the cinemascreen.

I also wanted to explore the many complex effects of having a mental disease. The shame, frustration and how it affects ones self-image.

I have especially been wanting to tell about the process of falling in love and letting someone in, when your brain sometimes feels broken.

I hope that this film can create a better understanding for everyone who lives with OCD every day and make them feel less alone.

I have developed the film in close collaboration with a youth-panel. We chose the panelists, so that approximately half of them were suffering from OCD.

Their feedback and the conversations I’ve had with them have been deeply touching and so inspiring. It’s young people like them I want to see this film. I want to give them an experience of being seen, so that they might feel less alone.
