"Redline" is a gritty, dark social-political thriller about a mysterious virus called "EL 8" sweeping through the poor area of Grantland, also called the ruins.
"Redline" explores themes such as social and economical inequalities, and secret societies. This gritty world is explored through the perspective of Grantland detective, Darius Jackson, and his estranged wife, Cynthia "Cyn" Jackson.
After the death of their 3 years old son Darius "DJ" Jackson Jr, due to the "EL 8" virus, their marriage takes a major turn. Cyn begins to go down a rabbit hole of conspiracies, and begins to question the origins of the virus, and the seemingly manufactured harsh conditions of "The Ruins". This obsession is not well received by Darius. His detective background allows him to only operate in facts, and what can be proven, not conjecture and conspiracies. Thus, causing an irreparable strain on their marriage, causing them to separate.
Fast forward to present day, Cyn is now a well-known, disheveled, activist in the city of Grantland. Her drinking and obsession to the conspiracies have increased. Her theories have become seemingly more erratic until one day she receives package containing a flash drive. Cyn's possession of the flash drive results in her being chased by the People in the Shadow. The People in the Shadow knows this drive contains information pertaining to "Project Redline". The cryptic contents of Project Redline introduce Cyn, with the help of Darius, now a newly promoted detective, to a world revealing that a more sinister plan is at play in Grantland. Cyn and Darius find themselves fighting for their lives while trying to discover more of the truth.
